History
The Sunshine Harvester Centre was once the administrative headquarters of one of Australia’s largest factories, The Sunshine Harvester Works. Established by HV McKay in 1906, the Works in its heyday employed up to 3000 workers and was the centre of a growing town which became a city in 1951.
The Granary Café is situated in the ground floor of the old Harvester Centre offices and is now the home of the historic boardroom table and its eight leather bound chairs. The table and chairs were used in the upstairs boardroom of the building for almost 80 years.
